Naturofloor is applied seamlessly as a levelling compound directly onto subsequent substrates and enables endless design possibilities.

• Cement screed: approx. 30 days old / maximum residual moisture 2.5 % (CM)

• Cement and cement plaster with added lime: dry, crack- and dust-free

• Anhydrite and flowing screed (calcium sulphate): approx. 5-6 weeks old/ residual moisture 0.5 % (CM), sintered skin must be completely removed and sanded within the specified period.

• Ceramic slabs / tiles, free of cracks and cavities.

• Lightweight construction walls (plasterboard, gypsum fibreboard, lightweight construction and cement-bonded boards, etc.), must be double-planked     with reinforced, filled joints

• Gypsum fibre screed elements laid floating with additional planking (glued and screwed)

When it comes to drainage systems, different manufacturers and models exist. The Aqua Swissline Vario and Flexshower channels  from Schaco AG have proven themselves over decades in conjunction with Naturofloor®.

Shower channels or drains with secondary drainage must not be used for mineral seamless coverings.

For a shower floorcoated with Naturofloor, the subfloor must be separated from the rest of the floor covering by a gradient and must not have underfloor heating. A floor with drainage must have a gradient of at least 3 % and rigid sound insulation.

In accordance with SIA norm 271/1, a mineral sealing slurry and the appropriate joint sealing tapes ensure that the substrate is watertight.

Different tray support options exist. If an EPS tray support is used, this is planked with a drywall panel.

The bathtub connections and outer edges are finished with NAF profiles and the front of the bathtub with an integrated webbing.

The optimum height of the individual compartments in a shower niche is based on the height of standard shower gel and shampoo bottles. The niche as a whole should be wide enough to accommodate several shower utensils and be about seven to nine centimetres deep into the wall.

The frame of prefabricated niches cannot be sealed directly with Naturofloor. The frame must be installed under a Wediplate.

Before the wall coating is applied, the Naturofloor edge profiles are inserted at the outer corners. These give the surface a clean finish and enable straight edges and stable corners.

The edge profiles are levelled over, but can be made visible on request.

The prerequisites for the Naturofloor® coating of a fireplace or stove are heat-resistant, load-bearing, crack-free and approved substrates. The heat resistance of the entire system structure is approx. 70°.  As the bottom layer heats up to 200° or more when the window is open, this is made of metal.

Installation openings and fittings must be sealed in accordance with the appropriate norms. The sealing sleeves are embedded in the mineral sealant and keep the substrate watertight. The Naturofloor fitting finishing or connection is implemented using the specially developed NAF cover ring and ensures a tight seal for Naturofloor, regardless of the fitting installation method.

Wall connections for baths and shower trays should be tight, sound-insulating and secure. A tray sealing tape is used to fulfil the requirements.

Tray sealing tapes must be flexible and the cut protection must not extend beyond the top edge of the tray. The bathtub sealing tape is integrated into the sealing layers.

The prerequisites for Naturofloor® coverings are load-bearing, crack-free and well-compacted substrates constructed in accordance with applicable SIA norms (Swiss Association of Engineers and Architects).

Heating pipes located within the mortar layer of the screed are deemed underfloor heating systems. The SIA 251:2008 norm only permits underfloor heating systems with a surface covering in the screed. Non-heated zones or areas with temperature differences over 5 °C must be separated from the other surfaces with the aid of movement joints. Only mounting systems that do not cause cracks in the flooring may be used.

The lower body of the floor box must lie loosely on the subfloor and be adjustable in height. The design features a separation between the floor and the floor box. The separation is sealed with natural stone silicone dyed in the desired shade of Naturofloor. The lid can be coated with Naturofloor as required. The NAF end profile is used for all connections and finishings.

When planning a staircase, the norm applying to the specific building project requires advance clarification. Naturofloor can be used to coat a wide variety of stair designs and constructions. In general, load-bearing, crack-free and well-compacted substrates are required.

Edge: The stair edge is finished with a slightly rounded NAF stair edging profile. Leaving the edge visible is recommended.

Connection: The stair connections or finishings have the NAF end profile.

In the case of screeds on insulating or separating layers, an edge strip must be provided at connection joints to rising components. Edge strips are not only required to prevent stress cracks, but are also installed for sound insulation reasons.

The NAF end profiles ensure a clean, straight separation and provide a stable substrate even with waved lines.

Naturofloor is ideal in combination with other materials. In new buildings, a construction height of approx. 5 mm can be calculated before the screed is installed. The height of existing surfaces is adjusted using a self-levelling compound. The specified separations and distances are adopted.

The position of the joints should be specified in the architect's joint plan. Movement joints must be adopted and cannot be spanned by Naturofloor® alone. The NAF end profile is used for all movement joints. The joint is sealed with natural stone silicone dyed in the desired shade of Naturofloor.

Naturofloor is ideal as a kitchen splashback, whether for new buildings or renovations. In an existing kitchen, a 5 mm gap to the kitchen structure is maintained with NAF end profiles.

In a new kitchen, the splashback can be created before the kitchen is installed. With this procedure, the kitchen worktop is installed at a distance of 4-5 mm from the wall and the joint is sealed with dyed natural stone silicone.

Different entrance mat systems exist for the entrance area. Depending on the product, the appropriate recess for an anti-dirt mat can be determined during planning.

Even with existing screeds, a recess for a 5-6 mm high anti-dirt mat can be created with the NAF end profiles. It goes without saying that an anti-dirt mat can only be laid on the finished surface once it has fully hardened. A suitable protective fleece can be used to prevent discolouration due to plasticisers.
